Allegheny County Jail warden announces retirement
The Fitzgerald administration will be working with President Judge Kimberly Berkeley Clark to identify a search firm for the new warden. The firm will be responsible for making opportunities for community input, according to the county’s press release.

However, the shelter did not open until November 22 due to permitting issues and materials shortages caused by the pandemic, according to Bertolet. It was not operating at full capacity on the day scheduled for opening.
