Primary Day has arrived in Northeastern Pennsylvania. One of the biggest races is for Lackawanna County Commissioner.

On the Dem side, you have party big wig and incumbent Jerry Notariani, Penn State football icon Matt McGloin, former Scranton city councilman Bill Gaughan, and Abington Heights School board member Phillip Robson and Michael Fedorka.

On the Republican side, you have current commissioner Chris Chermak, former commissioner Laureen Cummings, Mayfield Borough President Diana Campbell, and former Scranton council member Brian Reap.

Sarah E. Cruz, Catherine Fox, Ro Hume and Tara Yanni are the incumbents.
Challengers include Tom Borthwick, David A. Burgerhoff, Robert J. Casey, Mark Dennebaum, Chris Gaidos and Marie Merkel.
Casey and Borthwick are former school board directors.
