The U.S. House approved Friday an annual defense authorization bill loaded with GOP rollbacks of Pentagon policies on abortion and transgender health care, as well as efforts to boost racial equity.

In a statement, U.S. Rep. Susan Wild, D-7th District, said the bill had been “hijacked by an extreme faction of the GOP that is intent on pursuing their goal of banning abortion nationwide and playing politics with our national security.”
