A special election to fill the seat vacated by former state Rep. Margo Davidson, D-Delaware, will take place during the Nov. 2 general election, House leadership confirmed Monday.

The special election was announced in a statement issued Monday morning by House Speaker Bryan Cutler, R-Lancaster.

Davidson, who represented the 164th Legislative District since 2010, resigned on July 22, following misdemeanor charges of theft and election code violations for allegedly misusing campaign funds.
