Pa.’s unemployment rate was 4.4% in February

Pennsylvania’s unemployment was 4.4% in February, according to state data released on Friday.

The February unemployment rate is one-tenth of a percentage point above the January rate of 4.3%, according to the Department of Labor and Industry.

The commonwealth’s February 2023 unemployment rate matches its February 2022 unemployment rate, data showed.

Nationally, the unemployment rate was 3.6% in February, up two-tenths of a percentage point from 3.4% in January.

In Pennsylvania, non-farm jobs were up 5,600 over the month to a record high of 6,094,400 in February.
