Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.5 percent in June, according to state data released on Friday.
Department of Labor & Industry data confirmed that the commonwealth’s June 2022 unemployment rate is 2.1 percentage points below its June 2021 unemployment rate.
Nationally, the unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent.
In Pennsylvania, nonfarm jobs were up 21,200 over the month to 5,950,900 in June.
The department reports that Pennsylvania has recovered approximately 87 percent of jobs lost due to the pandemic.
