Democratic candidate in Lackawanna Co.’s 114th House District special election hits the airwaves
Bridget Malloy Kosierowski, the Democratic hopeful for the open 114th House District outside of Scranton, released a TV ad this week, as first reported by PoliticsPA.
In the spot, Kosierowski — a registered nurse — shares her aims of fighting for “good jobs at a good wage,” property tax reform, and protecting victims of sexual abuse.
The 114th has been open since last fall when former Democratic Rep. Sid Michaels Kavulich died following surgery complications.
The seat has been in Democratic hands since 2000. The district backed Trump in 2016 and voted for up ballot Democrats, including Gov. Tom Wolf, Sen. Bob Casey and U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright, in 2018.

Kosierowski faces off with Republican Frank Scavo, a local entrepreneur and school board leader who ran for an overlapping State Senate seat and lost last year. Scavo said his campaign is working on its own ad.
The election is March 12.
